Spotting on a darkroom printed image is a way of re-touching the photograph to remove dust and hair marks from the print which have appeared due to flaws or specks on the negative used.


to do this you use photo dyes and use a small brush (size 00) and peck softly at the area you need using a mixture of water and the dye, the paper will soak up the water along with the dye allowing this touch up to become permanent so it is essential you use minimal amounts and do not overdo the process.

dyes are cheap to come by and come in various differnt colours and tints.
