Springwater (Spring Bank) Bleach Works

This bleach works is proving difficult to find more information on, for this I will be now visiting the local libraries and town hall to find some information.  The site according to local senior inhabitants is that anti aircraft guns were situated on the site during the second world war, this makes sense when looking at the photographs of some of the more modern buildings on top of the old mill fixings.

Built in 1890’s

All that remains of the original buildings is demolished parts and the smaller of the three reservoirs which the works used to provide water for bleaching cotton once produced.

After Contacting the local libraries and also posting help messages to find information on this now forgotton peice of local history it has actually drawn a blank on any further research possible, even the web links on google search bring up this blog as the second highest piece on the site.
